Sleat and Strath v Edinburgh Napier University

posted 2 May 2011, 02:57 by Ben MacKinnon
Edinburgh Napier made the long journey up to play Sleat and Strath in a friendly match. Neither team fielded their strongest side, with Sleat not having a single first team player on the park at kick off. A decent game was played, with 5 first team players thrown on for the last 5 minutes which upped the tempo and tested the brilliant Napier goalkeeper who kept the score at 0-0 at the final whistle. A penalty shoot out was played in the spirit of a friendly, with the Napier keeper again being the star pulling off a couple of fantastic saves to ensure the Edinburgh team went home with the 4-2 penalty win, however for both managers will have seen the game as a chance to evaluate the depth of their squads.
