Ewen MacRae Final

Sleat & Strath progressed to the final of the Ewen MacRae cup on Saturday after a 2 - 1 victory in Portree. Far from the high scores that have been many of the games this season, it was a much tighter affair. Sleat & Strath, who were missing Sandy MacAskill, Bruce Neill and Scott MacKinnon, took the lead after 10mins thanks to James Robertson, but couldn't find a 2nd until the 75th minute when a not fully fit Gordy marked his return to the team with a return to score-sheet. Portree got one back almost immediately, but Sleat & Strath were able to see out the remainder of the tie to secure their spot in the final. A sore point was the loss of Ian MacPhearson in the second half, who has chipped a bone in his foot and will miss the final. However, new signing Raghnall Robertson, brother of James, game on in his place and was solid in defence.

Sleat & Strath will face Portree Juniors, who earlier on the Saturday had travelled to Gairloch and returned with a 6 - 2 victory. The Final will be played in Kyleakin with a 5pm kick off.
